… MY ADVENTURES ABROAD THUS FAR …

~ Where I am right now ~

- In the very heart of the mid-English countryside…

* My favorite places to be (apart from my own little uni village, of course) are Edinburgh, London, Liverpool, and York.

~ Where I’ve been wandering off to recently ~

- January to June 2012: England, England, England

- April 2012: Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, & Germany

- May 2012: ???

~ Places I’d Love to Revisit ~

- The Netherlands

* In the unlikely event that you were not already aware, I’m rather infatuated with Amsterdam at the moment.

- The UK

* In my opinion, London is always a good idea.

* But Edinburgh, Oxford, York, Bath, and another trip to Wales would be nice as well. I’d love to explore more of the southern country if I can.

- Ireland

* I’m simply dying to pay another visit to the magnificent National Library of Ireland in Dublin and also hope to explore more of the South, including but not limited to county Clare where my grandmother’s family used to live.

- Germany

* I thoroughly enjoyed my exploration of the beautiful Rhine Valley this year, but I’d also love to spend some time in Berlin and Munich so I might sample the many wonderful history and cultural centers I missed out on last time around.

- France

* At least a weekend in Paris is mandatory, but return visits to Avignon and Lyon would also be lovely. Further explorations extending to Nice and Marseilles would assure my spiritual assent into heaven, as I could hardly want for anything else in the world ever again after that point.

Turkey, Hungary, Egypt, Kenya, and Australia

* A Note on Kenya:

My mother went on safari there a long time ago and it became a very special place to her. I have no idea if it or somewhere else will become similarly special to me, but I want to someday see at least a few of the spectacular sights she saw and walk along some of the valleys she walked and finally be able to throw some color and definition to hopefully more than a few of the stories she’s told me since I was a little girl.
